Yes. We are often contacted by students on placement who have received notices about overdue loans that they didn’t realise were due back, or who are unable to renew items, or who are unable to return their loans in person because they are living and/or working some distance away. Fines are not excused in these circumstances and so it’s important that you manage your loans effectively to reduce any unnecessary expenditure. We strongly advise, before borrowing library resources, that you take time to consider if and how you will be able to return them, particularly if you are about to go on placement, and particularly with items such as one week loans which attract higher fines.
