The best thing to do if this happens is to go into the article record by clicking on the title. Look in the ‘Find a copy in the library’ section as there may be a printed copy of the article held at the Service Desk. If not, scroll to the ‘Details’ section towards the bottom of the record and look for a ‘DOI’ (Digital Object Identifier) hyperlink. Clicking on a DOI link will open the object. If there is no DOI link, or the DOI link is to an abstract and not the full article, you have the option of requesting the item via inter-library loan (see the Inter-library Loan link at http://libguides.bishopg.ac.uk).
